Baltimore City Not For Sale Organizer Training

It was recently announced that the Baltimore City Board of Elections has disqualified RENEW, the property tax-cutting ballot measure that would have a devastating impact on City services, from the November ballot: https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/politics-power/local-government/baltimore-tax-rates-renew-rejected-3E5ICEOXA5ELPG55SOX76UAZTU/. There is an ongoing legal challenge so we cannot let up on the fight against the RENEW ballot measure.

Cutting Baltimore City’s property tax will leave the city half a billion dollars short, gutting our schools, and endangering public safety and other basic services. The ballot question proposes to cut the city’s property tax rate by 44% over seven years, costing the city about $627 million in lost revenue annually. These cuts would leave the city unable to pay for basic services city residents rely on every day.

The BTU is launching an organizing fellowship for members to learn in-depth about the ballot measure and how to fight back against it. Members can apply to the fellowship here: https://bit.ly/BCNFS-BTU.
