Baltimore City Public Schools Teacher and Baltimore Teachers Union member Rogie Legaspi was named National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) Mary McLeod Bethune National Teacher of the Year during the 44th Annual NABSE Conference at the Deborah Wolfe Partridge Awards Dinner.
Legaspi teaches science at Hamilton Middle School. He is a model teacher and a product of the Union’s Teacher Leader Program.
He is the second Baltimore City teacher to win the award after BTU President Marietta English who won in 1993.
