GLSEN recently launched the “GLSEN Navigator” to equip advocates with the information they need to support LGBTQ+ students in every state and territory. Access it here.
Based on 20 years of research, GLSEN has identified four core supports that promote students’ ability to thrive and reach their full potential:
- Activating supportive educators
- Passing LGBTQ+ affirming policies
- Inclusive curriculum
- Supporting student GSAs
GLSEN Navigator provides advocates with information on policies needed to strengthen these four supports –– including trans athletics, inclusive curricular standards, bullying and harassment prevention, and nondiscrimination laws in each state and territory. It also includes their research state snapshots on the experiences of LGBTQ+ youth in K-12 learning communities.
