The new issue of the Baltimore Educator (BTU’s newsletter/magazine) is now available online! Members will also receive a print edition of this issue.
The theme of this issue is “Boots on the Ground”. In this issue we highlight the important work that rank and file members are doing to build union power at their schools and offices and in the wider world. Zach Taylor makes the case for repealing Maryland’s ban on strikes for public employees and reports on the campaign that BTU is leading in coalition with multiple other local unions on that front.
Know Your Contract answers some of your frequently asked questions, and the PSRP Update breaks down all the latest developments for the PSRP chapter. This issue sees the return of the traditional Member Spotlight as well as a reflection from BTU Summer YouthWorks intern, Curtis Johnson Jr. And as usual, Shout-Outs, a letter from President Brown, and the events calendar round out this issue.
We hope you enjoy this issue! The next issue will come out in January. Contact mpesa@baltu.org by December 19th if you would like to submit something.
