The Baltimore Teachers Union and the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners have reached a framework for settling a Class Action Grievance concerning a published May 1, 2014 deadline for applying for AUs for college course work completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013.
If you:
- Took college course work between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013,
- Applied for AUs, and
- Were denied AUs because you submitted your course work after May 1, 2014, or
- Took college course work between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013 and did not apply for AUs because of a published May 1, 2014 deadline
You may be a member of the class covered by the grievance and may be eligible to have your AUs credited retroactively to the date you first submitted the course work for AUs.
In order to be considered a member of the class covered by the grievance, you must send an email
by no later than Friday, March 25, 2016, to:

The email must include:
- Your name
- Your Employee Identification Number (EIN)
- Each course completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013
- The number of credits earned
- The date you submitted your course work to ESS
- The date you were denied AUs for college course work that was completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013
- The reason why you were denied AUs for college course work that was completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013
- The reason why you did not submit for AUs college course work completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013
If you submit the information to btuclassactiongrievance@gmail.com
after March 25, 2016, your claim for AUs for course work completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013 shall not be accepted or considered for AUs.
